Abstract: | The female adult of Stigmella hisaii usually deposits her egg on the surface near the tip of leaf of Castanopsis cuspidata. The mine commences from there and extends in broad linear form along leaf margin toward base, whereas in S. castanopsiella the mine extends 22-25 mm long in slender linear shape along midrib toward base, and then after larval ecdysis it leaves midrib to make a broad linear mine. |
