Abstract: | Thirteen species of the family Nepticulidae were found on the Brandberg, Namibia. Six of them proved to be unknown and are described herein as: Stigmella naibabi sp. nov., Stigmella uwusebi sp. nov., Ectoedemia (Ectoedemia) expeditionis sp. nov., Ectoedemia (Ectoedemia) tersiusi sp. nov., Ectoedemia (Fomoria) kharuxabi sp. nov., and Ectoedemia (Fomoria) uisebi sp. nov. The male genitalia of the new species are illustrated and colour images of the adult moths are presented. Their presumed relatives are indicated. At present, a total of 21 species of Nepticulidae are recorded from Namibia. They are tabulated in a check-list. |
